Danish Hospital grade Are you exporting medical equipment to Jutland, Copenhagen, Zealand or the Danish islands? Hospital equipment and especially life-support is powered from a hospital’s dedicated mains circuit with backup power, which means critical machines keep working during power outages.
These medical circuits will only accept the Afsnit DK-2-8a medical plug. This has one square and one round pin, to prevent non medical equipment being plugged into the critical equipment circuit and causing problems such as flattening the emergency batteries.
Hospital plugs will still work in normal sockets. Talk to our expert technical team for more information, options, and pricing.
Danish Data plug As a stockist of rarer types, Morvan also offer the specialist Danish data plug. Some offices and datacentres in Denmark have dedicated surge protected ‘clean’ circuits to protect computers which might be sensitive to power spikes and surges.
The plugs have narrower rectanglar live and neutral pins, so the sockets prevent standard plugs with round pins from being plugged in and potentially overloading the circuit or creating electrical noise (data plugs will work in normal sockets).
The standard is described in Demko Afsnit DK-2-5a, and is also known as EDB or Elektronisk Databehandling Stikke (electronic data handling plug).
